How it all started: I started photographing the joy women experienced during the other half of life, after turning 40. But soon, an epidemic shut down the country, and the project of documenting women directors at work was born. This is one of the first pictures in the series that I still continue. I could take this picture through the window of Veerle’s office on the ground floor.

Stolen moment at a movie premiere : “When is it too dark to take a picture? Despite the dark atmosphere, it added to the eerie ambiance of her character in the film. The young actress walked down the stairs to meet the audience who had just watched the movie “Holly”.
